March Meeting: Creve Coeur Airport

1:30pm meeting

Creve Coeur airport has a barbecue every Sunday. The cost is $6 and includes the choice of one of two hot meats and a variety of hot and cold side dishes. The meeting will follow lunch.

If you are coming by auto, Creve Coeur Airport has become much easier to find. Take I-64 or I-70 to I-270. If you’re coming from I-70 go south on I-270 and if you’re coming from I-64, go north on I-270. Go west on the Page Avenue Extension (M0-364). Exit at Maryland Hts. Expressway (second exit). Go right at the bottom of the ramp. Turn left at the second stoplight (the first light is River Valley Dr. the second light is Creve Coeur Mill Rd); the road ends in the airport.

What Really Happened to Amelia Earhart? Fred Schieszer, Professor Emeritus in the Dept of Aviation at the University of Central Missouri, will speak on his 40 year investigation into the disappearance of Amelia Earhart on Saturday, 28 April 2012 at the West County YMCA Theater, 16464 Burkhardt Place, Chesterfield MO. This is a benefit reception for The Sparrow’s Nest Maternity Home; tickets are $15 for adults and $9 for children under 16. March is Women’s History Month. On 7 March, Libby Yunger presented a talk entitled A Century of Women in Aviation, 1901-2000 to students at Lewis and Clark Community College, Godfrey IL, as part of their Women’s History guest speaker series.

Diane Earhart has a tower co-worker whose 10-year-old daughter loves to go flying, She will be on spring break March 19-23 and her dad will be on leave from work to be with her.
