Minutes May 17, 2008 Meeting

Minutes of The Greater St. Louis 99’s
17 May 2008

Members present: Mary Kinnaw, Gussie Freese, Anne Mongiovi, Delia Greer, Ruby Rudoli, Jan Pocock, Sally Siebe, Jean Murry, Ruth Bohnert, Vivian Waters, and Martha Norman

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Sally Siebe at about 1:30 PM after our Installation Luncheon at Oliver’s on St. Louis Downtown Airport.

There was no special installation ceremony. All elected officers, since they were the same as last year, were asked to continue the duties as they did last term. All agreed.

The minutes were accepted as sent on in the newsletter.

The treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

Old Business and Committee Reports:

NIFA: The NIFA National SAFECON to be held in May 2009. Host school will be St. Louis University – Parks College and the official airport will be St. Louis Downtown, Cahokia Illinois.

Library Display: The Library Display is on schedule. Gussie will be contacting libraries.

The date of Greenville Compass Rose painting has not been set at this time. Everything is ready at the Greenville Airport. Martha reported that both compass roses at St. Louis Downtown are in use and they are glad that they were there.

Our June meeting: June 21, 2008 at Vivian Water’s at the Club House at 12:00 noon.

Fred Harms is retiring from the FAA. There will be a “Roast” for him. Don’t know the time or place.

Spring Section Meeting Report: There were 96 members present at the meeting from 14 Chapters. The International Convention will be in Chicago in July 2009. Jan volunteered the Greater St. Louis Chapter to be coordinator for the Hospitality Room. There will be a special program on Girl Scouts.

Waypoint: Check your e-mail address in the International Directory and correct it if necessary. Waypoint will be e-mailed using that address.

Motion was made by Gussie that Vivian should determine how to vote for the Chapter at the International Convention this year concerning the International By-Laws that will be decided on. Motion seconded by Jan. Motion carried. Vivian will be a/the Chapter Delegate to the International Convention in Anchorage Alaska this year.

St. Charles Airport: Donations are requested for the office at the St. Charles Airport due to the fire there and the loss of facilities and furnishings.

Immediate Section Meetings: The Fall Section Meeting will be October 10-12, 2008 in Columbus, OH. The Spring Section meeting will be in Milwaukee.

Martha moved that the meeting be adjourned at 2:48 PM. Delia seconded. Meeting adjourned.
