March meeting: Saturday, 19 March 2011
11 am – Lunch at Red Lobster Restaurant in the Chesterfield Valley (exit I-64 at Boone’s Crossing)
12:30 pm – Meeting at the Wings of Hope Hangar

Please bring photographs and scrapbooks of chapter activities to share at the meeting.

NOTE that the GIRL SCOUT AVIATION PROGRAM previously scheduled for March has been CANCELLED. As of the end of February only four Girl Scouts has registered for this program.

Future Events:
Our April meeting will be held at the St. Louis Air & Space Museum in hangar 2 at St. Louis Downtown Airport on Saturday, 16 April. We will plan to meet at the Museum at 11 am. Several projects have been discussed on which our group could work, from developing an exhibit for the Museum highlighting the achievements or local women in aviation, to cleaning and polishing Nikki Caplan’s 1941 Meyers OTW biplane.

14-16 July 2011 are the dates for this year’s Ninety Nines International Annual Meeting and Conference in Oklahoma City. The registration form is now available online. Go to https://tpires.com/99s/index.htm to register. More information is available in the Jan/Feb/Mar issue of the 99 News. The early bird registration period ends on April 1. Until then the registration cost for all events is $299. Lodging at the Oklahoma City Marriott costs $130/night for a standard double room.

Chapter News:
Congratulations Nelda!
This Newsletter includes the Boeing News Now story about Nelda Lee receiving the 2010 Katherine and Marjorie Stinson Trophy at the Women In Aviation Conference in Reno last month. We also have pictures of Nelda performing with the WAI jazz band. Way to go, Nelda!

Vivian Waters is having another very busy Spring. Her photographs will be at several Art St. Louis off-site displays and at two gallery shows. She will have pieces at the St. Lois Development Corp, 1015 Locust St., 12th Floor, from 11 February until 8 April, at Fleishman-Hillard, 200 N. Broadway, from 15 April to 10 June, and at the World Trade Center, 121 S. Meramec Ave., Suite 1111, from 24 June to 19 August. See http://www.artstlouis.org/offsiteartists.html for more information. The Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum is having a drawing on 16 July 2011 for two (2) nights lodging for two (2) people at the historic Glick Mansion (Tuck U Inn B&B) in Atchison KS.
